Photography Workshop

Are you still shooting on Auto?  This class is for those who want to learn how to take better photos by learning how their digital camera works. Students will learn the basics of photography. Emphasis will be placed on the “4 pillars” of photography including White Balance, Focus, Framing, and Exposure. ISO, aperture, and shutter speed will be covered along with the proper use of stops. Manual, aperture, and shutter priority operating modes as well as artistic elements such as bokeh and motion blur will be covered. Bringing your camera is recommended though not necessary. Instructor: Gabriel Gonzalez.

Please read your manual and familiarize yourself with the controls of your camera. Knowing how to access your camera’s ISO, shutter, and aperture settings is highly recommended as these areas will be covered in class. A digital SLR camera (one with the ability to use different lenses) is highly recommended. While all digital cameras function in the same way, cameras from different manufacturers and of different models will have different control layouts for the same functions. Because of this, being familiar with your specific camera is important so that you may follow along with the instructor’s examples as the class progresses.
